Elon Musk announced that the design of the Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup truck remains in development, and the company expects to produce it in serial production until the middle of the current period. The uniqueness of this transport feature is of little concern to anyone, but independent examination has shown that aerodynamics do not suffer particularly from its aesthetics.
For electric vehicles, good aerodynamics are important for increasing the range, but traditionally configured vehicles could not boast of a low frontal support ratio, which varied across the range of vehicles. 0.55 to 0.65. As reported by Electrek, representatives of the company Numeric Systems were able to test a digital model of the Tesla Cybertruck in a virtual wind tunnel. The modeling, which revolved around the shape and proportions of the pickup truck, demonstrated unfavorable results for a car with this body type - the frontal support coefficient did not exceed 0.39. Before speaking, according to Elon Musk’s early statements, there is no limit for the Cybertruck - the company plans to lower the indicator to 0.30.
According to representatives of Numeric Systems, the unique profile of the Cybertruck body does not particularly compromise the fluidity of the car in its upper part. An improvised diffuser above the vane diffuser creates an area of low pressure and changes the vortex. However, in the area of the rear side there is still a lot of stench, and there is plenty of room for improved aerodynamics. Consider the same shape of the side struts of the car and the front part, not to mention the widening wheel arches and chimera wheel arches. However, it is still too early for the remaining systems to work, and it is still unknown what kind of mirrors the serial pickup truck will be equipped with, and the real forms of the car may differ from the digital model, as in the experiment menti.
