The Tesla factory in Fremont, California has reached a new milestone by producing its 2 millionth vehicle. They published a photo showing the 2 million car surrounded by staff and a sign with the inscription "2 million". This news was published by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
“Congratulations to Tesla Fremont + Giga Nevada for building their 2 millionth car!” Musk said.
“To think Fremont was just an abandoned building and Giga Nevada was just rocks and bushes in the beginning! There were once a dozen car factories in California. NUMMI was the last to close. Tesla Fremont is now the largest automotive plant in North America!” Musk exclaimed.
Tesla is aiming to surpass 3 million total vehicles delivered, which it expects to achieve this summer.
